In the words of Flavia Dzodan "My feminism will be intersectional or it would be bullshit". As awareness of different spheres of oppression grows, and previously silenced minorities begin to speak out, it is important to look at the various ways that different spheres intersect.

Burning Bridges is about giving representation to those voices that aren't always heard. To provide a network that explores different areas of social justice without ignoring the different frameworks they exist in, and promoting discussion on the different ways that different factors come into play in any given situation. We want to promote the stories of trans people, people of colour, people living in poverty, those with mental illness, queer folk, disabled people, and more.

We have no interest in silencing anger, but rather seek to help it catch fire in people's hearts and start the process towards making this world a just one. In the long term, we would like to move on towards publishing social justice motivated works of both fiction and non fiction; such as stories that feature protagonists in less represented populations.

Who Are We?

We are a group of multimedia artists, bloggers, podcasters, and more, all of whom have an abiding passion for issues of social justice. Since none of us live single issue lives, we know what it means not be single issue in our activism.

We also hope to help set up some talented artists in creating web comics, artistic pieces, podcasts, video casts, all in addition to the high quality blogging content we already produce.
