About Butter Pecan Podcast

Butter Pecan Podcast is a show about Race & History & Food. Kelly Nusz and Darryl Goodner are friends and co-workers at Louisville Cream, based in Louisville Kentucky. We create material that examines the history of food and its racist past, discusses how systematic racism affects our diet today, and we try to change this dynamic with new recipes you can make at home.

In each episode or series, we provide a thoroughly researched history of some of your favorite foods and discuss our own relationship with those foods. Then we use these stories to inspire recipes that we post in our cookbook for listeners to use in their own kitchen.

Our podcast is free to everyone, but with your donations we will be able to continue our work providing content. Your Donation will be used to:

  • Upgrade our production equipment and pay distribution subscriptions  so we can continue to bring you a quality sound.
  • Pay the producers and researchers that work behind the scenes and in front of the mic, to bring you the most detailed and entertaining stories we can find.
  • Pay for the food and equipment used to cook and create recipes for the shows and blog.
