I am the lead developer of Derpibooru, an imageboard for fans of the television show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The intent of Derpibooru, and the underlying project booru-on-rails, is to have a fan site built from the ground up that solves major scalability problems with other boorus similar to it, such as Danbooru and Shimmie, and to create a system that is easily categorized, searchable and filterable.

As noted on the main Derpibooru page, all financial proceeds beyond what the site is actually running on for hosting are either stored for potential future use, in the event of necessary investments for site hosting upgrades, or donated to charity if there is no foreseeable use for them. This is by design; nobody gets paid to moderate or administrate Derpibooru, and the entire site is operated on a volunteer basis.

This also means that the time I have invested from 2014 onwards in code contributions to the site has been entirely unpaid. Furthermore, due to changes in the development team over the past few years, Derpibooru in its current iteration is almost entirely dependent on my knowledge for continued support and maintenance.

This page is for those who wish to help me offload some of my own personal costs and help me work on the site, and to give me a financial incentive to help improve and maintain Derpibooru for years to come.

In the event this page is able to fully fund me, I will work on Derpibooru as my full-time job, and will be able to make many more time-limited improvements to the site.
