Hello Folks,

I've got fed up with maintaining my wordpress installation at and decided to start writing again some premium content for free, and what better platform than Patreon to start engaging with my readers and supporters.

First, let me introduce myself again. My name is Paulino Calderon and I'm a published author and international speaker with over 10 years of professional experience in network and application security among other hobbies. When I'm not travelling to security conferences or conducting on-site consulting for F500 companies with Websec, a company I co-founded back in 2011, I enjoy peaceful days in the mexican caribbean in an island called Cozumel.

I'm a long time open source contributor and you can find some of my work in projects like The Nmap Project (where I'm part of the official development team), Metasploit and a bunch of OWASP projects such as OWASP Mobile Security Testing Guide, OWASP Mobile Application Security Verification Standard, OWASP Juice Shop and OWASP IoT Goat. I've also published some personal projects that you can find on my personal Github page such as:
  • macphish, an malicious payload generator for Office for Mac
  • Rainmap Lite, a web interface to launch Nmap scans quickly from the Internet
  • Insecure Programming DB, a knowledge base for insecure programming functions
  • External NSE library, where I keep track of NSE scripts that are good but couldn't make it to the official trunk for different reasons.
  • HHG5XX, an Android application with over 7 million downloads.
Lastly, I also love organizing security events in Mexico and I'm currently the organizing OWASP LATAM Tour Mexico and 8.8 Mexico, in addition of running the local OWASP chapter for the Riviera Maya. As I grew up around the Riviera Maya, I never had the opportunities around me and at some point during my life I thought Infosec was unreachable for me so now that I can do something for my community, I love organizing events to bring these valuable topics to Mexico and encourage new enthusiast to do research in this field and contribute to the open source movement.

Becoming my patreon, will grant you peek previews of my private projects such as upcoming books and tools, exclusive post content and even interesting data sets from large WiFi and port scan results from Mexico to conduct your own research. Who knows, maybe I will drop 0days here from time to time. This is my first time over here so we will certainly keep evolving!
