Subscribe to give us support on the regular every month, that would be magic. It means we can make more time to make more podcasts and stuff we love to share.
They lit some candles in the depth of winter 2014, and they started to learn one of the ancient epics, An Táin Bo Cuailgne, from a fair few versions. They crafted their own story, they learned how to tell it, and as the music came along to accompany them, the whole thing just felt right. They’ve been telling stories ever since.
We tell the stories we love at four different venues around Dublin and Wicklow every month, and we’ve created children’s shows, theatre shows, festival shows, and now a new podcast. And we keep finding more stories and more ways to tell them.
We have lots of other ideas as well, and we continue to be inspired by these stories and the creative beauties that keep working with us. We get swept up and away with these myths, and keep finding new insights and delights with every one. There's a powerful kind of magic going on, and we don’t ever want to stop!
Candlelit Tales want to bring back the craic of the old myths and legends. We want to share these stories with the world, so that everyone can hear and be inspired by the wealth of wit and wisdom in these old tales.
So keep her lit lads… keep her candlelit.
Aron and Sorcha get together for a "podcast day" and record the material for the month's podcasts. Sometimes we need more than one because we get cranky. Or distracted. Or both. All of this means we need to take a day off from the day jobs, and that would be a lot easier if we could pay ourselves for it!
With this tier, we'll be able to pay everybody currently involved in the podcast to fence off their time to work on it, and will thus be able to get the podcasts up on a consistent schedule, without delays.
