Design/Life Drawing/Building Photography Day
I'll spend at least one day a month designing characters, objects, and settings BEFORE I need them, rather than on the fly and at the last minute, possibly at the inking stage. My work would benefit enormously from more deliberate design, especially of environments.
I'd learn to use Sketchup properly. Gathering my own snaps of buildings would be invaluable as well, particularly street scenes.

Hatching New Worlds 1
Each month, at this goal level, I will be able to explore other stories besides FINDER instead of trying to cram these ideas and interests into FINDER. Besides allowing me to make more stories, I'll be able to stop making FINDER fulfill all my needs as a storyteller.
Use New Skills
I'll be able spend time in keeping my online presence pristine and up to date, making it easier to share all that I'm working on. This includes special graphics that reflect current work—or my own whimsy.
Hatching New Worlds 2
At this level I will be able to devote time to develop any promising new story ideas generated at the previous Hatching World Goal : design character, plot outline, predicted scope, final title and logo–even a pitch package. All to be shared, naturally, in the patron-only blog at least twice a year.
Party Like It's Time To Hire Somebody
I would, at this point, be able to find somebody to handle the mail-orders and file quarterly taxes. There would be more time for dancing in the streets and making drawings of the resultant chaos.
Hatching New Worlds 3
Take the most promising new story fleshed out in Hatching New Worlds and produce a full-color promotional piece, complete with eight pages of story, a cover-style poster image and detailed synopsis.

FINDER is a speculative fiction comic. That means I read all kinds of Science and speculate about how it might fit into the world I created, how it might change things and the people who have to live with it, and I'm sure I get it all wrong, but that's why I write fiction.
FINDER has been my home for many, many years, and I stuff every shiny thing that comes along into it. But I have other ideas I'd like to do someday, and this might be a great place to unveil them. I also spend a lot of time chasing other projects, partly because I love them, partly because juggling jobs is what it's like doing comics for a living. But even when I have plenty of work and my skills are being used to the fullest, my bank account is not always best pleased-- constant work does not always mean a steady supply of money. It's hard to keep things running smoothly that way.
Also, my middle name has been Speed all my adult life, but I've earned it; I'm one of the fastest creators in the business. I can't say I don't take perverse pleasure in my sprints for the deadline. I'd like to have the luxury to SLOW DOWN, though, and have time to draw live models and design weird buildings and figure things out before I just have to leap back out onstage and improvise. I'd like the time to do the research, and make my world that much richer. A steady monthly income would go a long way towards helping me do that, and I'd be happy to show all of you first what's on my drafting board.
