Um. Hi!
My name is Cassandra. You may recognize me from such outlets as PC Gamer, RockPaperShotgun, and USGamer. Or, the Verge. Because that's where I currently work.
As much as I enjoy my daily labour, I also want to write about books and graphic novels and manga and web comics. I'm a huge bibliophile and have been since childhood. I devour books. I eat 'em up for breakfast and lunch and dinner. My family once banned me from buying books; being a speed reader can occasionally be hazardous to personal satisfaction.

So, why don't I just go out there and write stuff in my tumblr? Because I'd like to get paid and because family is important for me. (Keeping a roof over my mother's head is paramount.) Writing is more than just penning down a few thoughts too. It's research. It's personal editing. It's going over draft after draft after draft. Stuff like this nibbles at your soul. And as much as I want to expound on how strangely hopeful The Walking Dead can be or how Dorohedoro beautifully expresses the ambiguity of morality, I can't do so without having the exercise weigh on my conscience. The phrase, "You could be doing something productive, " stalks my every waking moment.
Here's the deal: every time I hit $150 on this thing, I'll write a long-form piece on something pertinent to speculative fiction, horror, science-fiction, fantasy or anything else under the sun. You can dictate what I write, of course. (Not that anyone does. Grumble.) Tell me to review a book, a series, an author. We can totally work that out. Otherwise, you'll get to listen to me ramble forever about things I think you should read.
P.S: I don't write often, but I work two jobs. But your money won't be taken until I do, so there is that.

Sounds good? Great! Let's do this.
