"Absolutely the most terrifying, twisting and turning, purgatory-plunging record I’ve heard this year, I implore you all to sink into this world and hand over none of your trust: there are moments that have suggestions of serenity, such as the brief arpeggiating guitar that ends “Airship” -- they are mirages sent from murderers. Amazing record. Hide it somewhere where I can't see it." Robin at Norman Records, reviewing the 2018 album 'The King' (Slip Imprint)

HELLO EVERYONE

My name is Cee, and I am a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Manchester UK. I write surreal and fantastical electronica and electro-acoustic music. My most recent album, ‘The King’, was received with enthusiastic critical praise; it was ranked in FACT magazine’s top 25 albums of 2018’s first quarter, was made Boomkat’s album of the week, and Robert Barry of The Wire called it ‘vast in scope, rich in execution’.

In addition to my solo electronic work, I have also worked extensively with the London Contemporary Orchestra, premiering works at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall (BBC Proms, 2018), Tate Modern (Uniqlo’s Tate Lates series, 2017) and the Roundhouse (Ron Arad’s Curtain Call, 2016).

What are you making, exactly?
I want to make a video game where you navigate with your ears rather than your eyes. It's going to be a series of mazes where you sense your direction by stereo sound - maybe the visuals give you some sense of what's going on (and I still want them to be evocative and distinctive), but you're going to have to rely on your ears to find your way around. You collect sound objects or 'keys' in order to make your way to the next level, and each level will have a very distinct and delicious aural palette to immerse yourself in.

What would you do with my donations?

This game needs a lot of assets; music, sound, visuals, coding, testing - and to be able to do this, what I need most is time. Time to make recordings, time to make music, time to investigate, time to experiment, time to learn new software, and at the end of it all, time to get what I'm doing out into the world. I'm prepared for this project to take as long as it takes, but I also need money to, well, live. And that means splitting my attention with other work. More dosh would also help me to invest in new equipment and software as and when it's needed.

What are the benefits to being a Patron?
