Hi, I'm Alanah Pearce, and I have a YouTube channel. I've started this Patreon in the interest in taking it more seriously, upon realising that that's what my subscribers want!

I currently make very, very little money off of YouTube, and produce videos only in my spare time - of which I have very little, due to my various professional positions. If this Patreon is funded successfully, I would be able to make more YouTube videos, a wider variety of them, and let subscribers dictate my upcoming content, too. I'd ideally like to be making 5 videos per week (where I'm currently making 2 a month or so), including some academic content - well-researched analysis of trending topics in the gaming (and broader geek) world, plus discussions regarding controversial pieces from other websites or personalities. I would also like to build a set-up that would making Twitch streaming feasible, and would ideally like to do this 3 nights per week (which is hard to set in stone, as I don't yet know what's really required regarding streaming).

To explain why I actually need a Patreon for this: I've been writing, talking and making videos all about videogames for the past 3 years, currently working full-time for a show called Button Bash. I also have several side jobs, which includes working for 2 radio stations, producing videos for 2 outlets and writing regularly for 2 more, and absolutely all of those positions go towards funding my attendance at various gaming events. So, this Patreon is here to effectively fund my YouTube as a 'side-job', where I would drop some of the others, and take YouTube more seriously, in attempt to give back to my subscribers.

YouTube tends to be favourable to followers as it's something that's more personal, more interactive and I have much more creative freedom and the ability to express things other outlets may not allow me to. So, if you'd like my YouTube to grow and you want to see more personal video content from me, and to suggest what upcoming video content I should make, become a Patron!
