Hey, Charles here.

At The Polymath Project, I take a multidisciplinary approach to two questions: (a) How does the world work? and (b) How can we do a better job of living in it?

This is only possible because of Patreon. Each month, I spend many hours reading, taking notes, connecting ideas, and spinning them into clear, no-BS essays that help dig deeper into this question of human flourishing.

Patreon lets loyal fans (you guys!) provide a small monthly contribution so I can spend less time bombarding you with ads, product offers, popups, etc. and more time just making stuff. This is a win-win for both of us.

What Patreon Supports

Although hundreds of thousands of people read my work each month, only a small percentage (far less than 1%) resonate with my work in a meaningful way. That's you. Patreon is my way of building what Kevin Kelly calls "1000 True Fans" - all a creative needs to survive ad infinitum.

Here's a detailed look at what Patreon supports:

  • Website Hosting. Payments for website & podcast hosting, domain registration, supplementary services, etc.
  • Podcast Hosting.
  • Email. For the weekly newsletter that goes to 25,000+ readers. It costs a few hundred dollars a month (and growing) to send this out.
  • Site Design / Outsourcing. Sometimes I need to hire people to help fix problems or make improvements on the website.
  • Books. I go through 2-4 books a week, and the costs add up pretty fast.
  • A salary. Writing is a full-time job.
Thanks so much for your support. I want to do this for a long time, and I hope you think I should to.

Goals
$1,505 of $2,000 per month
Bootstrapped!

At $2000 a month, I'll be able to write and record podcasts with less worry over having to generate income on the side.
