<div style="text-align: center;">WELCOME TO MY PATRON FAMILY!</div>My name is Chelsea Marie Davis and I'm a composer/lyricist, storyteller, and performing artist. I'm always humming on these themes: beauty, justice, healing, and redemption. Thanks to the partnership of patrons like you, these are the projects I'm working on right now: <div style="text-align: center;">MARIAN An original musical based on the life of Marian Anderson</div>This musical celebrates Black opera singer &amp; Civil Rights icon Marian Anderson. After she was shut out of a concert hall in Washington D.C. because of racial prejudice, Eleanor Roosevelt &amp; allies arranged for her to give a concert on the steps of the Lincoln memorial. On Easter 1939, 75,000 people gathered to hear her powerful voice galvanize the nation.  Under the auspices of Liquid Theatre Collective, I am working with a kick-ass all-female creative team to write <a href="https://www.liquidtheatrecollective.org/marian">an original musical about singer and Civil Rights icon Marian Anderson</a>. These powerhouse women include 5 time Helen Hayes Award nominee <a href="https://www.liquidtheatrecollective.org/caleen-sinnette-jennings">playwright Caleen Jennings</a>, Oscar-nominated <a href="https://www.liquidtheatrecollective.org/elkin-antoniou">producer/storyteller Elkin Antoniou</a>, National Endowment for the Arts Fellow &amp; award winning <a href="https://www.liquidtheatrecollective.org/emily-ruth-hazel">poet Emily Ruth Hazel</a>, and the genius <a href="https://www.liquidtheatrecollective.org/victoria-theodore">pianist/arranger Victoria Theodore</a> who has toured with Stevie Wonder and Beyonce!  Out of 343 show submissions, &quot;MARIAN&quot; was named a Semi-Finalist in the National Alliance of Musical Theater's &quot;2020 Festival of New Musicals&quot;! <div style="text-align: center;">SONGWRITING VENTURES </div><div style="text-align: center;">Projects include Chelsea Marie Davis, JØAN, Empty Oceans, Roseport, Radio Circus</div>My songs have been featured on Warner Brothers, CBS, MTV, Freeform, Apple, and CMT and NPR with LA Theatre Works. As a songwriter, I'm constantly expanding my skills by learning to write in new genres.
