I'm Ben McFarland. I like making RPG materials, and I'm good at it. I won the 2012 Ennie for Best Adventure with my Kobold Press project, Streets of Zobeck. I've worked for Kobold Press, Rite Publishing, Stormbunny Studios, Zombie Sky Press, ENWorld, Wizards of the Coast, Paizo Publishing, and Atlas Games. I've done design work for D&D (3.5 and 4E), Pathfinder RPG, and Ars Magica since 2008. I've worked on about 20ish crowdfunded (and -sourced) projects, many before Kickstarter came around, and I've led a couple of them. I have about 45+ different project credits, from designer to developer to editor to (poorly faked) art director.

I plan on offering short articles, NPCs with stat blocks and story seeds, mechanics, and material like spells, incantations, and magic items. Maybe the odd location and map or two.

This is meant to be a place for experimenting on rules and subsystems, while creating compelling and intriguing characters you can introduce into your games. It is about providing refreshing new fan-driven content for Pathfinder games and offering up some free Ars Magica content because I'm making it anyway. Definitely more Pathfinder than Ars, since I'm still a big part of Sub Rosa and a fanzine's gotta publish. In fact, the Ars stuff will be free.

I'm an alumnus of the old Open Design projects from Kobold Press, which means I've got a bad habit of over-delivering. You're going to see more than 5 pages, but I think I need to be realistic about the first few releases.

Each edition is (mostly) professionally produced and emailed to subscribers in a zip file or download link.

Goals
$0 of $25 per Quarterly (or so) issues of 5-10+ pages.
I will put this $25 right back into other Patreon RPG and fiction projects, and help spread the word of those projects to you while still generating material.
