Hola.

I’m Christine, a writer and artist with a love of history and science. A tree-hugging Tennessean living in Oshawa, Ontario.

While learning about the brain in school, I spent free time studying art. Well, more like...it was suggested I drop the art program because the teachers didn't think I had "it" and I ended up falling in love with neuroscience anyway. My path started out with the intention of being an artist and writer, but was sidetracked by my love for science. Rejection isn't always a bad thing. The choice of a science-based degree instead of an art degree had unexpected effects on my creative process.

Years spent working in the non-profits and grass-roots organizations in different capacities also revealed to me that community is essential.

I’ve spent most of my time being the typical creative: alone in my home making things, sometimes sharing the end result. I’m done with that. My ultimate goal is to use art to connect people...with self, with each other, and with nature. I want to tell stories and I want to hear your stories. Joining the creative realm shouldn’t be a prescription to isolation, but a way to contribute to the world’s narrative. Art is a language, what use is dialogue in a vacuum?

When I’m not making art, I’m playing games, binge watching LOTR for the millionth time, or exploring a local park.

(By the way, Wyrd is pronounced like weird.)

Current Progress & The Gist of Being a Patron

The short of it, you sign up and decide how much you what to contribute monthly. You can change the price (or cancel) at any time. At the moment, there is only one Tier available, as I'm working on an art show and some commissions that are full time. Once they are finished I will add more tiers with benefits so you can give more and get more in return. Follow me here, or on other social media to get updates.

Being a Patron means you and I are in this together. On this site, I will share with you what I don't share with the public. You'll be in the studio with me (in a virtual way to start), getting updates on projects, tours of sketchbooks, insider tips, exclusive art, and first dips on special prints, and all that jazz. I love to garden, so I see a correlation between a growing a garden and Patreon. It's like we're planting a seed together and as it grows and I nurture it, you get the fruits of the labor and get to share in the process.

Of course, if you questions or what to know more first, feel free to ask.

Where I am now... is a soft launch. I'll be adding rewards and more tiers soon. If you can't sign up now, you can show support by following me on social media, liking, commenting, and sharing. Thank you and I hope to see you around. Peace.
