He is currently teaching cinema arts in his San Francisco bay area studio. He is sharing project developments and expanding his school mentoring program here on Patreon. His cinema arts students learn story development, character and prop design, fabrication, storyboarding, animatics, filming, acting, editing, 3D CGI computer graphics imagery and basic VFX as they develop original independent projects from start to completion. His patrons gain inside access to projects as they develop.
Why pledge?
Arts have been and are continuing to be pulled from our schools. However, study after study concludes that arts can play a critical role in improving the academic performance of students, boosting confidence, along with many other benefits. Many parents are going outside of schools to provide their kids with opportunities to explore their creativity. What Christopher offers is unique and modeled as a personal mentorship program as opposed to a pre-set curriculum in a classroom environment.
Christopher mentors kids and also mentors adults, online and in studio, some older than he. Students and patrons enjoy the process from start to finish seeing, experiencing and contributing to all project development steps along the way. This includes art, instruction and outtakes from every stage of design, fabrication and production development.
What are they saying?
“Chris is fantastic! He provided a very unique and impactful opportunity for my son to tap into his creativity and learn many facets of filmmaking from story concept, to prop making, to filming and editing. Chris is extremely passionate about sharing his professional experience with his students and what he offers is very personalized, really more like a mentorship. He is also a father so understands kids and teens very well which is a plus.” – Lori D
Project of the Month
MEK. "A boy's mech goes rogue". A five and a half minute short film.
"A boy is bullied at school. He builds a mech guardian for his protection. When it goes rogue, hurts people and runs away the boy must find a way to stop it."
