Church of the Table is a church in Chicago in the anabaptist tradition which focuses on justice, service, and peace. We're a real church. It's right there in our name.

Church of the Table will raise money to fund its general sustainability and social work in a few ways – like all churches, we will ask the folks who attend to give what they can as regularly as they are able. CotT will also seek out one-time donations from folks who do not attend the church but who want to support our work.

Those avenues are fine, but they are not very fun. So – we're going to make a zine. Zines are fun. They are small magazines. You will love them. At your dinner parties your guests will be impressed with your genteel sensibilities when they see a stack of curated zines on your coffee table.

Introducing WORKSHOP: a zine produced and published by Church of the Table, shipping quarterly to all of our patrons who want to support our work in the community. The zines will be beautiful. They will have short essays, art, and cover topics that are important to the church – social justice, advocacy, gardening, care for the underserved, cheese, the criminal justice system, woodworking, housing, love – these are not simply topics that we talk about; they are places where we put our hands and feet in the dirt in order to do good work in our world.

To be very clear: as a patron you are primarily supporting CotT, and as thank you we are publishing this zine and sending it to you. You can support us and get the zine at different contribution levels: $10, $20, $35, $50, $75, and $100 per month.

You can cancel your patronage at any time.

Sidenote: if you are not into small magazines but you still want to support CotT financially, we will have direct giving at churchofthetable.com in the next few weeks. Go here to fill out a form and we'll email you when we can receive online contributions.

Issue #01 of WORKSHOP: is titled "THE GRACE OF SAWDUST, SOIL, AND SCRAP". It will be published and shipped on September 1, 2018. Issue #02 will ship December 1. And so on.

All levels of contribution get the same zine. If you decide to contribute $35 or $50 per month then the only bonus besides the zine is that you can feel better about yourself than the $20 folks. How you feel is up to you. We're not here to judge.

Since Church of the Table is a 501(c)3, your contribution is tax deductible. More information will be provided to our patrons regarding taxes every January.

With sincerity, we are grateful for you and your support of CotT. There is much good work to be done in our neighborhoods in Chicago, and at Church of the Table we will both participate in and lead those efforts. Your patronage to our zine will give us the means to do that work. So, genuinely, thank you.
