Every Saturday morning, I put out "Six Degrees of Rockination" on kpsu.org.  It's a one-hour radio show, it's awesome, it's fun, and it's totally free.  Free to you, at least.  It's not free to me.  Since I'm not a student at Portland State University, I have to pay KPSU a "community member fee" every quarter.  Which is kind of a bummer.

To help me pay KPSU, I've decided to seek out patrons, people who listen to the show regularly, feel that it makes their lives a little better, and want to reward me for all my hard work.

How much am I hoping for?  25 cents a week. Yeah, I know, it's crazy-cheap. But I figure that's a dollar a month and twelve dollars a year. Not a lot, but better than nothing.

What do you get for that 25 cents?  One, you get the satisfaction of supporting a radio show you love.  Annnnnnnnnnd... you get an extra song!  A song the regular listeners don't get to hear!

I'm calling it "A Song That Matters," and, basically, it's me introducing you to a song I love, only with play-by-play.  As the song plays, I'll be in the background telling you some factoids, sharing what I love about it, geeking out during the good parts, and so forth.  Then, after I'm done nerding out, I'll play the song again, this time uninterrupted.  Here's a freebie, if you want to check it out.

That will cost you just 25 cents a week, which is basically nothing.  And even better?  You can cancel at any time.  Listen to a few and decide it's not for you?  Cancel.  Lose your job and decide you can't afford a dollar a month?  Cancel.  Either way, no hard feelings.  You'll still be able to listen to "Six Degrees of Rockination" free of charge.

So whatta ya say?  Want to support independent radio?  Plus get a little extra awesome each week?  Sign up for "A Song That Matters."
