'Claudia Kaak's Quest for Inner Peace'
I was born in 1987 in Heppenheim, Germany, where Ilive and work. In 2015, I graduated from Goethe University Frankfurt (a.M.). My first solo show was held at Galerie Pack of Patches in Jena (Germany), and my group exhibitions include shows for Art Innsbruck (Austria), Gallery Ewa Helena, Ludwiggalerie Schloss Oberhausen (both in Germany), RJD Gallery in New York, Zhou B Art Center in Chicago and Gormleys Fine Art in Dublin. I have been a finalist for the 13th and 14th International ARC competition and have been awarded by the International Guild of Realism (2019). My work has been featured in PoetsArtists, MilionArt Kaleidoscope, The Guide Artists, Revista Ophelia and an online exclusive exhibition with International Guild of Realism, Arizona.
I am a German self-taught artist who paints the human figure. My paintings bases on photographs and movie stills.
Every work has an autobiographical and society-critical narrative, in which I work through my childhood experiences. It deals with existential feelings, the inner strife of human beings, deep emotions to the extreme limit of pain but also the complete reversal.
Many of them are untitled and I assigns each of them with a number to form a part of a numbered series in order not to influence the viewer.
I want to break the taboo to speak about and show feelings and emotional disorder.
