Special Announcement: As of Wednesday, January 2nd, Stephanie will be joining me once per week for an episode of The Audio Journal.  That's right! Stephanie and I going back to podcasting (together) on a weekly basis.  Yet another amazing benefit of becoming a subscriber to The Audio Journal Podcast.   Stephanie's first weekly appearance is available now in episode 016.

So what is The Audio Journal podcast?

To answer that, please allow me to share the backstory.

In December 2005, I began podcasting as a hobby. I fell in love with the positive impact and influence that you could have by putting your voice out into the world through an audio podcast.

I began to dream of leaving my career as an insurance agent to pursue some sort of online business that would allow for a greater amount of margin in my schedule. I wanted the freedom and flexibility to be able to create even more content that entertained, educated, encouraged and inspired others.

In December 2006, I launched the Podcast Answer Man brand. My hope was that I could find a way to build a coaching business that would allow me to leave my career in insurance within 5 to 10 years.

It DID NOT take that long!

Just over a year later, in January 2008 I began my journey of full-time self employment. It was not an easy transition. However, I was determined to succeed. AND I DID!

I invested the next decade helping tens of thousands of individuals and organizations successfully launch a podcast through one-on-one coaching and online courses.

I went from knowing nothing about running a business to becoming the world’s leading authority in my industry.

How did I do it?

The exciting thing is that there are approximately one thousand people who know every intimate detail of every step that I took to grow personally and professionally as a result of a podcast called Pursuing A Balanced Life.

Pursuing A Balanced Life

From March 2006 through January 2016, I recorded and published a total of 633 episodes of the Pursuing A Balanced Life podcast.

A majority of the episodes were in the format of an “audio journal,” recorded using a handheld digital audio recorder while I was out for daily walks.

While this podcast no longer has a publicly available podcast feed, those who were subscribed, during that 10 year journey, got an inside look into everything that was going on, behind the scenes.

People were shocked at the level of detail that I shared about all of the successes and failures I experienced along the journey of building my online business.

Another Major Career Transition

In January 2016, I began to publicly speak about a dream of another major career transition.

I wanted to completely shut down all my products and services (100% of my current income streams) related to podcast coaching/consulting and, instead, focus on my role as a business mentor, life coach and motivational speaker.

It was at that time, I had made the decision to rebrand my business podcast from “Podcast Answer Man” to “The Cliff Ravenscraft Show.” I stopped creating episodes focused on the technical aspects related to audio podcasting and focused on the type of topics that I had been sharing in the Pursuing A Balanced Life podcast.

Not wanting to have two separate podcasts where I was covering the same topics, I completely shut down the Pursuing A Balanced Life podcast.

Nearly three years later, I am thrilled with how this latest career transition has progressed.

I find that I’m taking bigger risks this time around. This means my successes are bigger than ever before. That also means that my failures are bigger than ever before.

Here’s the thing… The content that I most feel called to create is that of sharing what I’m experiencing in life.

My mission, first and foremost, is to pursue the life for which I was created. I am always learning. I feel called to share experiences from my journey in life (my successes, failures, fears, hopes, dreams, etc), and what I am learning from these experiences, in an authentic and transparent way with the intent to provide education, encouragement and inspiration that motivates others to take their own life to the next level.

But there is a major problem!

I’ve found that not everyone is interested in hearing me share the intimate details of my journey.

There are a number of people who have not yet come to know, like and trust me. For them, they are not interested in the most intimate and personal details of what is going on behind the scenes of my life and business pursuits.

There are even a few folks out there, who would consider themselves to be "true fans" but who are still not interested in these more intimate and personal updates.

The Cliff Ravenscraft Show, as my only public podcast, is a platform where folks can tune in to learn more about who I am, what my message is and how what I am sharing can add value to their lives.

I know that every single episode that I produce is someone’s first episode that they will ever hear from me. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that it does not make sense for me to include these “audio journal” updates in the Cliff Ravenscraft Show.

Here is where The Audio Journal comes into the story.

I’ve decided to launch a new podcast called “The Audio Journal.”

I made the decision to make this a "premium" podcast, meaning that it is only available to those who pay to subscribe to it. I'm using Patreon, a trusted company that is devoted to provided services that allow content creators to get paid for the work that they do.

I did not choose to make this a premium podcast for the purpose of providing a significant source of revenue in my business. Instead, I chose to make it only available to paying subscribers because that means that this content is no longer "publicly available" content.

As a result, I feel that I can share even more authentically and transparently now that these episodes can't be downloaded by just anyone for free.

If you know who I am and have an interest in a behind the scene look into the actions that I’m taking in my message, my business and my life to the next level, then this is the podcast for you.

Subscribe Today and you will get a personal podcast rss feed!

Subscribers to The Audio Journal podcast will get a custom podcast feed that you can use to gain access to these private podcast episodes in the most common podcasting apps out there. That means that you can add this podcast to Apple’s Podcast AppPocketCastsOvercast and others.

I look forward to seeing you on the inside!

Sincerely,

Cliff
