Whether you want to build endurance, score a PR, or improve your health, I hope my podcasts and blog posts contribute to your success.

PATREON: I've started this Patreon page in the hope that I can raise enough income to hire an assistant.

If you've been listening for long, then you know that I lead a very large group of local runners here in Tampa. I am the founder/director/coach of Run Tampa. It's the best job in the world, and it keeps me super busy, but I also have a passion for my Mojo for Running and Beginner Runner Village Podcasts, Together, they have been downloaded over 840,000 times n 193 countries. I love doing them and have a list as long as my arm of topics for future episodes.

I'm starting this Patreon page in the hope that I'll have more time for the podcast if listeners will sign on to contribute a small amount each time I produce a new episode.
If it doesn't work, the podcasts will end, soon. I'm going to do six more episodes, and if I can get the per episode donations up to $500 by then, I'll continue. If not, they will disappear. Yes, I can't even just leave the old episodes up because the hosting is too expensive.

I hope you will consider supporting this podcast and me. Now, below, I'll provide a bit of biographical information including details about the podcast and what I do for Run Tampa.

Both podcasts and explain how to train wisely, but they also offer inspiration to provide the constant stream of motivation you need.

By the time I became a certified coach, I had been running 30 years; yet, I was blown away by how much I learned and how much it immediately improved my running. That’s when I set out to spread the word about the proven, most successful ways to train. When you train wisely, you stay healthy, allowing you to then focus on achieving your goals. It’s not rocket science; it’s just a few basic principles that anyone can easily understand and apply.

The Mojo for Running and Beginner Runner Podcasts cover specific coaching topics, the kind of thing I share with my 'in-person' clients here in Tampa, but in the podcast, I get to go into more detail.

THE HUMAN RACE is a documentary film about runners over 50 and features several of my Run Tampa runners, all over 60. It's available, currently, on itunes, Amazon, YouTube and lots of other channels. I guarantee it will make you want to lace up your shoes and go for a run, and it will totally change your view of 'getting older,' when you see the runners in this film.

RUN TAMPA is the local running club I founded. We have 430 members and a Facebook group with over 5,000. I do everything myself with the help of several volunteers who help with the group runs. I maintain the website and the Facebook group, organize parties, host our group at group race events, do all the coaching (currently 100 registered), publish a digital magazine, manage and sell a large selection of apparel, maintain the database, send out New Member Packets and emails, maintain the email list, organize destination races, do all social media (Twitter, IG, FB) and lead three of the four weekly group runs.

If this Patreon page works as I hope, I will hire an assistant to do much of Run Tampa's behind the scene's work that really doesn't require me. I'm not especially good with spreadsheets, and databases.

Much of what I do - and have done for years - is FREE to the running community, both local and internationally. For example, I maintain a local race calendar on my Run Tampa website, and I never charge races a fee to be included. Local runners have come to depend on it because there is no other online calendar that is comprehensive. Because it's free, even the smallest organizations can have their race included, even non-profits with no marketing budget. Each race is even linked to the registration page, also at no cost. As you might imagine, keeping this updated is tedious and time-consuming.

I also have always made all our group runs open to the public. Since my RunTampa.com website is #1 in google for "running Tampa" and "Tampa running," runners all over the world land on it when they're planning a trip to Tampa. When they contact me, I'm happy to answer questions and invite them to join our group runs when in town.

As you surely know, all the podcasts have been free. Since I don't interview anyone, each of my episodes takes longer to put together. Sometimes I spend a long time researching. While I have 40 years of experience and am a certified coach, I still like to check with the experts and latest research. As a result each episode takes about two days to complete.
