Hey guys! My name is Colin, and I am passionate about everything that is visual storytelling. Whether that be comic art, storyboards, concept art, and illustration.

I love that visual storytelling can be the bridge to so many gaps that exist in the world. From race, religion, gender, and even language, telling a story using a visual narrative breaks down all those barriers and allows people to connect.

Time is the most precious currency that everyone shares, and for me it's not about the $3 spent on a comic book, it's about the 30 minutes that someone is willing to sit down with and enjoy the world, the story, and the characters that I give life to with my pen. To be a part of giving someone 30 minutes of entertainment, a new world to explore and enjoy, is pretty dang cool.

I strive everyday to push my limits, explore new techniques, and do what it takes to make sure that if I am asking someone to spend their valuable time with my work, it is well worth it.

Life's A Bear
$2 or more per month
Webcomic!

I've been doing these little "Sunday Funnies" (as my mother-in-law call the Sunday comic strips 😂) since high school. The characters are based on me, my wife, my family, my friends, and just the things that life brings to bear on us. (Yes. Pun intended. You're welcome.) 'Life's A Bear' is for kicks and giggles and hopefully puts a smile on your face.

This comic strip is only available here.

Cause let's face it...the old ones do tend to get boring after awhile. Afterall, we stare at them almost 24/7 (or maybe that's your social feeds 🤔.)

Either way...it's always nice to have options!

Photo Ref Library
$15 or more per month
20-30 new reference photos every month, plus updated link for easy access to the entire library of all past photo reference shoots.

I am VERY particular about getting the details, the angles, positioning, the fall of clothing, and action just right. I'm a stickler for those things.

There are the occasional photo reference libraries out there, but more often then not they are filled with just the standard straight-on and profile style shots. It's also surprisingly hard to find photo reference of someone holding an accessory at just the right angle that you want and even if you are lucky enough to find that, 9 times out of 10, they aren't holding the prop correctly! What's an artist to do?!

Luckily, I have not only spent years collecting and kit-bashing my own props for reference, but I now have a studio space to take decent photo's. (My past reference photos were janky ones taken in my cluttered office space...and the lighting was awful.)

And I am now making those nice, fresh, and well-lit photos available to you.

Tutorials and Livestreams

A peak into my creative process. There is so incredibly much that goes into visual storytelling. How to create a world, design a character, create the perfect accessories for that character, lay out a page...because after all, comics are talking heads, so we gotta make it interesting. And then there is the fight to the smallest detail right, and all the different tools and techniques to use! Honestly there isn't enough time to do it all in, but I share as much as I possibly can.

Goals
$0 of $3,000 per month
Hitting this goal would enable me to stop taking side-projects in order to do allocate time to one of the things I am super passionate about; coaching and training other artists. When I hit this goal I will be able to start taking on students!
