About

First of all, we want to thank you for taking the time to visit our Patreon! Second, we want to tell you more about why this exists.

Colludia is all about high quality content for story-based indie games and the developers behind them, and we do not want to fill up our website with ads like most game or entertainment blogs. We want it to be all about the indie games we love, and as a result, our website has quality UI/UX centered around those games, our high edited quality articles, and a user-first experience where we don't shove ads down your throat that slow down the website and destroy the experience.

As a result, we don't earn ad revenue and the fully custom website we built from scratch takes a lot of our time to maintain and add features to. Maintaining our standards of article writing and editing also consumes much of our time. As a result, this ambitious passion project that we're still building upon and planning bigger things for every day takes about as many hours as a full-time job per week with little to no support.

We really appreciate any support you can give us here or on our Ko-fi!

Here's more about Colludia in general, which can also be found on our about page (it will probably the most up-to-date version).

Welcome to Colludia
An indie gaming blog focused on games with stories to tell and the developers behind them.

We are a couple of friends who have a slight video game addiction, particularly when it comes to the story-heavy gems we find in the indie game scene. Our favorite games are those that tell a story and start a conversation. With Colludia, we want to bring more attention to those very stories the game developers want to tell, along with shining spotlight on indie developers and studios.

The Articles
Most of our articles will be written in a casual, conversational manner and will be more personal than most reviews or game articles you see these days, but still maintain a high standard of writing. We want to start accessible and engaging discussions about the games we love and the people behind them rather than chase the latest trends.

Here are the types of articles you’ll find (or soon be able to find) on Colludia:
  • Reviews and discussions about both old and new story heavy games
  • Dev spotlights where we play and discuss all the games by a developer or studio we love and sometimes even interview or hold AMAs with them!
  • Our picks which are lists of the best indie games summarized under a certain theme
  • Opinion or analysis articles with our thoughts around gaming topics in general
  • Occasionally, we’ll also talk about some not story rich indie games we really enjoyed

The Community

We created a new Discord server not too long ago, but the community is already growing steadily. We aim to build a personal, cozy community and connect readers, gamers, and indie developers. Anyone can join to sit in on live game developer interviews in server calls, participate in developer AMAs that we’ll host, drop article and interview requests, or just chat with other gamers and devs who love story rich indie games.

The Website
There’s one last thing we want to mention—our website will be a user-first experience. Most sites these days have horrible user interfaces and user experience or are flooded with ads. Our aim is to maximize the quality of the reading and browsing experience and minimize the distractions and advertisements—you’ll only see one here or there, and they’ll be unintrusive.

As a result, we’ll need more support in other ways, such as through our Patreon or Ko-fi. If you love our content, please consider supporting us however you can—even if just by sharing our stuff!
Goals
$8.55 of $50 per month
We break even on the expenses of keeping the website, newsletter, giveaways, and all of our other features running. At this point, we can also completely eradicate what little ads we have from our website to achieve our goal of a 0 clutter and user-experience first indie-focused gaming website.
