What's going on, Internet!? It's the greatest comedy podcast of all-time!

Life isn't always fun, but you know what? It should be. For the past three years (and, as of this Patreon campaign's launch, 144 episodes and counting!), The Comedy Button has brought lots of laughter, more than a little bit of awkwardness, and some occasional life perspective to nearly half a million listeners every month. If you already know who we are, that's awesome, and thanks for listening! And if you don't know who we are, well: We're Brian Altano, Scott Bromley, Anthony Gallegos, Ryan Scott, and Max Scoville -- a motley crew of comedians, video game industry professionals, and Internet-famous people. We love making comedy podcasts, because comedy is the most important thing in the world, in these dark and distracting times. If you're like many of our listeners, your job is probably at least semi-hellish -- and you need someone to cheer you up, brighten your day, and make you laugh a few hours each month. But unlike the video games and pirated comic book movies that you've tried sneaking under your boss' giant nose on company time, you can mostly enjoy everything about our awesome podcast right in your ears on your favorite headphones, to get you through those otherwise rough days.

For centuries, the only way to get consistent comedy in your ears were the topical news-dependent, advertisement-riddled morning zoo crew radio shows. We grew up on those, too -- but the world of audio comedy is changing, and that’s where our show is different and personal. We want you to feel like you're hanging out with friends, swapping stories, and telling jokes while everybody laughs their heads off. Not to mention that we wholeheartedly invite you to banter with us, as we regularly answer all kinds of listener questions and give out our expert advice on love, sex, food, travel, life, and everything else, all for free!

Well, maybe not free... but that's really up to you, and that's what our Patreon campaign is all about. The cold, hard truth about podcasting is that it tends to be pretty difficult to reliably monetize through the more modern forms of advertising. So, we're going directly to the people who want to keep us around, and that's (hopefully) you! Of course, our podcast is free (and will remain so forever), but we want to do even MORE shows (and hand you some cool backer rewards) if you decide that we're worth a tiny bit of your hard-earned cash each month.

THE COMEDY BUTTON ON PATREON FAQ
Q: If I support you at the $5.00 tier, when do I get the early episodes?
A: Our goal is to roll this out to you on Thursdays. The exact time of day may fluctuate a bit depending on the week, but we will post early, ad-free episodes for the appropriate patron level each Thursday under the Creations tab.

Q: What exactly is the bonus content available at the $3.00 tier?
A: It's the same content that we publish each week to the iTunes Podcast Box App, and that winds up in the TCB After-Hours bonus packs that are available in our online storefront. Basically, it's a bit of extra chatter that we cut each week while we're getting ready to record a new episode. Once again, we will post it under the Creations tab for the appropriate patron level, each time we post the corresponding new episode.

Q: Who will have access to your bonus episodes, and when and where will they be posted?
A: The bonus episodes are backer-exclusive, and they will be posted under the Creations tab, for ALL $1.00 and up patron levels. Our current goal is to publish these episodes by the middle of each month (basically, once our monthly Patreon earnings get processed). Remember, every pledge helps us get closer to those stretch goals. For years, our fans have said that they wanted more of us... and, well, this is the way to make it happen!

Q: Will there be an RSS feed for any of the bonus episodes or ad-free early episodes?
A: This is something that we are actively discussing with Patreon. We definitely want to offer this to you, but it's something that we need to be able to do within Patreon's framework, using your existing Patreon login credentials. For now, you can easily download our MP3 files, and put them on your PC, phone, or wherever it is that you normally listen to our show. We'll keep you updated when we have more news to share!
