Hi there.
Glad you found us.

What is this?

Commonplace books were little notebooks kept by people to record little bits of things they found cool - quotations, ideas, inscriptions, little verses that came to their heads.
We want to take that idea and apply it to a community around one thing - common human experience.
Commonplace is a co-op magazine which exists to map our inspirations and processes, allowing us to see the world around us in a different light.

How does it work?
The rules are simple. To contribute, just buy a magazine. Then, send us whatever it is you'd like published - think pieces, opinion, artwork, poems, pictures of your mum, whatever you feel explains and inspires you.
Every quarter, we then produce and ship the magazine to everyone who has bought a copy.
If you'd like us to, we can put details of how readers can get in touch into the magazine. Just let us know.
Of course you don't have to contribute stuff - you can just read it. That's cool too.

Do I need to be a professional to-
No.
Commonplace is open to anyone and everyone who would like to contribute. There are an infinite number of perspectives out there, and we seek to represent them all.

This is a project which seeks to unite us all in our day-to-day everythings. A common place for us to share.

Fifty people is a lot of people.

We'll need some help to create this magazine, including cover design - if we have 50 readers, we'll open up the cover design to you.
