Hi! We are Daniel Chun and Jan Derksen, two diploma designers.

Here on Patreon you can help us to save dying sounds.

We founded CHUNDERKSEN in 2009 as a small studio for creativity, film production and communication design in Hamburg and Essen, Germany.

In 2013 we set up a free project, which is still up and running:
CONSERVE THE SOUND - Your online museum for vanishing and endangered sounds.

The sound of a dial telephone, a walkman, an analog typewriter, a pay phone, a 56k modem, a nuclear power plant or even a cell phone keypad are partially already gone or are about to disappear from our daily life. Accompanying the archive people are interviewed by video and text and give an insight in to the world of disappearing sounds.

The whole project and website is run by ourself. All sounds, pictures and interviews are captured by us. Under certain conditions, it is also possible to send us some sounds and pictures. We welcome suggestions in general, sound suggestions, stories, anecdotes and of course collaborations.

CONSERVE THE SOUND
is a matter of our hearts. There is no need for languages or boarders. The great feedback about our museum from all over the globe proves in a lovely way, that sound and even tiny noises have such an universal emotional power to the people.

With the help of patreon we want to boost CONSERVE THE SOUND to the next level. We have so many ideas and great plans. Be part of this audio time travel and help us preserving dying sounds! Thank you very much!

ps:
If you say: "Wait, museum for endangerd sounds?! Pheew, that is weird and nerdy!"
We say: "Absolutely! You will love it!"
