I've been working on making FreeBSD run on the Amazon EC2 platform for about a decade now. I first got it booting in December 2010, and as of April 2015 it has been running smoothly enough to be a standard part of FreeBSD releases.

However, there is always more work to be done; I have regular conference calls with Amazon to discuss new developments in the world of AWS and how FreeBSD can make use of them, and spend a significant amount of time both writing code myself and coordinating with other FreeBSD developers who are working on relevant parts of the FreeBSD codebase. This has been entirely a volunteer effort on my part.

Although I'm not aiming to get paid for my work on this, I've come to realize recently that it would be useful to have some sponsorship to cover other expenses. For example, there have been events where I've said "it would be useful to attend but I can't justify the cost".  This is where you, dear FreeBSD/EC2 users, come in: I'm hoping you'll collectively give me a budget I can spend on whatever I think will help my work here, so I no longer have to pay for things out of my own pocket.

You make extensive use of FreeBSD in EC2, including some of the more obscure features.  Maybe you use configinit to automatically configure new instances.  Maybe you make use of the AMI Builder AMI to create customized images.  You want to make sure that the extended functionality keeps on working.

You want someone you can call up for help.  Maybe you need help putting together a configinit script.  Maybe you need help building a customized FreeBSD AMI.  Maybe you're building a product based on FreeBSD which you want to sell in the AWS Marketplace.  Pay for this support plan and you'll get 10 hours/month of my time.
