What Men Do With Their Mouths
Bio for c.r avery
By P. Smith
cue the frenzied combo of molar and spit.
his tongue touches every chroma on its way to blue.
he’s been rinsing with gravel, flossing with wire
and chewing brick again, he’s been a bad, bad boy.
but he is crackerjack conjurer of washboards and
rubber, even suburb girls welcome the twinging. i
want to nibble yesterday’s corona from his chin, rub
my index finger along the surface of his laugh, pull
the maw open to check the slick road of his throat.
there’s something illegal going on down there, the
sweet keening of ancient instruments. the orchestra
is fidgety, click-hipped, steaming inside that skin.
the boy opens the beauteous and, in gut rendering,
words become both otherwise and everything.

Victory on East Hastings is a love letter to the neighbourhood and the art scene of East Vancouver. The film follows a day in the life of Victory and Bernadette, two renegade bohos who are all gangster and no guns. Part dramatic feature, part joyous song and dance, the soundtrack showcases music from C.R. Avery's 20 year career and the script is composed of poetry and prose from his last four published books.

Note: More tiers will be added throughout the year, but C.R. and his production team have decided to start with 3 high quality tiers that they are excited to produce and build it from there.
Boom! Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride, mo’fo’s.

Words A Week
$50 or more per month

Every 7 days C.R. will send you a new piece of writing from what he has been working on that week. Whether it is a scene from a new script, a poem, prose, or a song lyric without a melody yet, this will be a peek into the realm of a wordsmith's process.

*(Price denotes one month of donor benefits - 1 piece of writing weekly for 1 month).

Sizzle Reel of Boom
$100 or more per month

As well as receiving weekly updates of C.R’s writing process,  you will receive a post to The Sizzle Reel once a month featuring a video of C.R. reciting his new pieces, a cappella or while sitting at his home piano, then heading into his art studio of fresh paintings and new film project ideas. This will not be posted on social media. This is a private look in the workspace of a living artist in the belly of his craft.

*(Tier price denotes one month of Donor Benefits - 4 segments of "Words A Week" and 1 post to "The Sizzle Reel")

Sweet & Savoury with C.R. Avery
$200 or more per month

On top of weekly writings & monthly raw insider videos in C.R’s East Vancouver art studio & home, you’ll receive a 20 minute slick-as-Rick cooking show hosted by C.R. with special guest that he has toured with, collaborated with over the last 20 years, or has just plain and simple been inspired by their work. The meal they cook (as they talk about their life together in the arts) will depend on the special guest.  If it’s long time rock n' roll guitar slinger Noah Walker they’ll drink beer while cooking something vegetarian (but that a meat eater could still get behind and find delicious). If C.R. has the Legal Tender string quartet over they will be drinking whisky and cooking steak with some grand pasta seasoned in a secret Little Italy recipe. From the members of the soul group the Sojourners and their love of Dark & Stormy's (picked up from their Australian tours) to the high-kick Burlesque Dancer's love of seafood & fine wine (while working on the musical extravaganza Some Birds Walk for The Hell of it), C.R & his special guest will be discussing there time making art together while having sunset strip belly laughs with a few drinks and preparing a favourite meal. Again this will NOT be available to the social media  general public, only to those in the premium

Patreon tier.
