Hi I'm Kimberley Jane (feel free to call me Kim or Jane), I write the blog crippledscholar. I am a PhD student currently working towards completing the requirements for my PhD. I just have to write 3 more papers and then I can get on to the real work of writing my dissertation, tentatively titled "We Still Hide Women in the Attic" Iy will be an autoethnographic look at my lifetime of abuse leading to actual committal to the psych ward and the abuse and isolation that shaped me as a person. I will be contextualizing my life's experiences through studying how culture perceives the archetypal mad woman and through a historical study of the hidden women who came before me.

Disabled people are often not seen as having a shared history. I want to show the connections we have to the past and how they impact our present.
