Hey, I'm Chris Wagar, creator of Critpoints.net
I want to create a way to understand games on a more fundamental level. My writing so far has been a process of breaking down words such as "Fun," "Depth," and, "Challenge," to the simplest concepts possible and then building them back up into what we know as a game.
I think most existing games criticism hasn't been elementary enough to really get to the heart of what makes a game fun, treating fun as a given, describing everything in broad strokes. I want to write criticism that is robust, easy to understand, and which connects to a shared experience with other people. No flowery language, no bullshit, just explain what games are in the simplest terms I can.
