About D Jordan Redhawk

Who am I?

I'm a writer! I publish lesbian romance through Bella Books. My tales tend toward speculative fiction and fantasy, but there are the occasional historical or contemporary gems among them.

Why Patreon?

I'm currently chief of security in a city that's nationally known for its aggressive protests. Our shootings have increased threefold in all areas of town, including my neighborhood and my work place. It seems like random strangers are violently attacking people walking down the street some times. Up until the last year or so, I never felt scared walking my city at night, and I've been here almost thirty years.

Lucky for me, I'm closing in on retirement, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Now it's the difference between early retirement or not. Can I leave work in two years? Or do I have to stick it out for at least five more before I can safely leave the workforce with enough funds to keep afloat?

That's why a Patreon page. My goal is to have enough Patrons to support an early retirement. If not that, then maybe I'd be able to afford to go part-time at work, allowing more time to write.

Because the characters are starting to come out of the woodwork again. Scenes are popping up in my head. (What a relief!)

Why become my Patron?

To join me, of course!

If you become my Patron, you'll see my daily writings as they occur - first draft dailies, so to speak. I'm offering a full unseen chapter of Works in Progress each month, a monthly article and other benefits.

There's a Discord server (chat room / bulletin board) where I plan to hang out whenever I'm online. We can chat, discuss my current projects (or YOUR current projects) and I can answer questions.

Eventually I'd like to add some merchandise as well. I'm not that great at design, but it would be fun to create my own book covers for stickers, coffee mugs, t-shirts and the like. Those would be added to the available benefits for my Patrons.

The goal is to make certain you get your money's worth.

Well, that's my pitch. If you're still reading this, thank you so much for supporting me throughout the years. Some days your emails and comments made the difference between writing or not writing. Meeting everyone at conventions, signing books, hanging out at panels - the community has been fantastic, and I hope to see everyone again!

Whether or not you can become a Patron, thank you so much for your time.

Happy Reading!
