Our Journey: We have been up and running for over 5 years and have never sought any sort of funding. Everything that has been created and accomplished has come from blood, sweat, tears, sleepless nights, fights, mistakes, sacrifice, and even more tears. Our shear success has caused our need of extra funds to keep things running. Growth is an amazing thing, but it comes at a cost! That success is all thanks to our amazing readers and we hope to keep providing what you’ve come to expect and much more. With close to 4,000 articles to date there is sure to be something enriching to your life on Daily Mom.
Thank you for supporting us and our mission to provide great content to our readers. This online magazine was created by the need for busy people (especially busy moms since they make everything happen) to find the information they need to answer the questions they have. You shouldn't have to look through pages of nonsense to find something that can contribute to your life in a positive way. We also aim to display content in a visually pleasing manner. We truly hope you make Daily Mom a part of your daily routine and find something useful to apply to your daily life.
Server Upgrade – We rent a server to store everything for the site. This can get expensive. As the site grows the greater server strength we need to utilize. Better server equals more cost.
MailChimp. This service is used to email posts and other news to our subscription list. Fees increase as our subscription list grows. (Are we seeing a pattern here?)
Site Management – Programming the website takes many hours and time away from monetizing activities or creating new content for you to enjoy. In many cases we have to pay someone to fix the really difficult things or other items we just don’t have time for.
Asana - This team resource tool is used to ensure projects are being worked on in a timely manner. As the team grows the cost for for a fully upgraded membership increases.
Facebook boost budget – Facebook throttles back viewership of a post. Due to this, less than 1% of those that like are subscribed to Daily Mom FB see new posts. We have no idea why they do this since these are OUR followers (Cough* Corporate greed and profit..excuse me). At any rate it costs a lot to get our posts seen by even half of those that should see it.
Dropbox – We have a massive amount of data that needs to be saved and shared amongst our team to produce content. As the site grows and the amount of data increases the more space and services within Dropbox it requires.
Online Back Up – We can’t go losing years worth of valuable content! Luckily we can back all of it up, for a cost of course.
Gear – We have over $40,000 in hardware (computers, cameras, lights, gadgets) that constantly need to be upgraded and fixed.
Various Costs – Our Domain Name set us back over $6,000, office equipment, software, books to learn new skills, training courses, endless fees, plane tickets, hotels, car rentals, and caffeine to live ! Ok, you get the picture… And all of this before we decide what is for dinner.
