Milestone Goals
CD release for upcoming album "Songs From The Shed"
I will be touring Germany in October 2015 to promote my upcoming
Oceansea record, "Songs From The Shed", and I would like to have some
physical copies of the new record. These CD's would help me pay
travelling costs and put food on the table during the tour, and would
satisfy the fans who still like palpable music releases.

The same as above, but even better! Vynil is a precious form of sharing music, and the songs I write just seem to sound better when the needle is pressing against them!
European tour!
I play around 50 to 60 shows every year in Portugal, and on October I will be touring Germany for the first time! One of my songs, "Poetry For The Moon", is a number 1 there in some independent radios, and I decided it was time to pack my case and take the long road! Unfortunately, since I do booking myself with help from friends, I need money upfront in order to pay for the trips and the food (I can always crash on someone's couch). I would love to take my music to other countries, starting with Europe: Portugal - Spain - France - Italy - Germany - Poland - Czech Republic - UK - Ireland is something I have planned for a long time but cannot afford yet. With your help, I'm sure we'll make it happen! :)

Hi! My name is Daniel Catarino, and I'm a songwriter from Portugal. I play in a lot of different projects and bands, and I write music and lyrics all the time.
I grew up in a small town in Alentejo, a very arid region in the south of Portugal, and I started playing guitar in 1994, when I was 11 years old. Honestly, I wanted to be a writer and I became a musician by accident, but soon I realized I could do something really amazing - write and make my writing go along with music!
I released my first album for free back in 2006, and since then I have released over 20 records (EP's, LP's, as a member of bands, etc.).
I really am a compulsive songwriter. If something good happens to me, I'll write a song about it. If something bad happens to me, I'll write a song about it. If nothing happens to me, I'll still write a song about it. Music is my life, I threw away a steady life and a good job because of it, and I never regretted it, even when occasionally I get really poor and have to crash in a friend's couch.

Hello friends
My name is Daniel Catarino, and I'm a singer-songwriter from Portugal.
I've been releasing music on the internet for free since 2006 under several aliases
My own name for my songs in Portuguese
Oceansea for my songs in English
Long Desert Cowboy for the instrumental music I create
and for a while I released my songs in Portuguese as Landfill, back when I was too ashamed to use my own name.
I am also a member of the portuguese hard rock band Uaninauei, folk rock band Bicho do Mato, psychedelic rock band O Rijo, jam band Alentexas, and the experimental band Cajado.
So far, I released 92 songs and instrumentals for free, with very distinct audio quality ranging from terrible to very good.
I was able to create my humble home studio with the money I got from fans who bought my cd's, digital downloads or simply donated it, wanting nothing more in return than what my songs mean to them.
I gave up a good job with a good pay 5 years ago in order to dedicate all my time to writing, recording and performing music, and basically I drove myself to poverty with that decision, because I knew NOTHING about how to make a living out of my music.
Music is so important to me that I cannot envision living without creating it, and I WILL keep on writing songs anyway, but sometimes I just can't afford a new microphone when the old one gets broken, I can't afford to book a studio to record drums or a string quartet, sometimes I can't even afford new guitar strings.
This is an opportunity to support me in order to keep creating music and offer it to the world.
