A Cappella Vocal Jazz

I love unique, jazzy a cappella music. I create original arrangements, and cover some of the most influential arrangements from the last 60 years with a modern twist!

Another Original Arrangement!
$500 per Video/Song upload
Vocal arranging isn't easy. It takes me a lot of time to create something unique, that sounds good at the same time. Time I could be spending recording existing arrangements. As my YouTube music page continues to develop and refine my musical style, this Goal will force me to find the time to do it!
Serious Equipment Upgrades
$700 per Video/Song upload
I have stuff that works. A lot of it is the cheapest option I could find to get reasonable results. With this milestone I want to buy equipment to make this process easier and faster. When I film videos I often stack my camera on top of a pile of board games, on top of a chair, on top of a ping pong table. The clip-on lamps are a completely different story. Until Patreon, and on a student's budget, I've always managed to find a way.

The expense of this is dedicating an entire afternoon to the process of recording some video clips, for what is still an extremely basic and simple video format. I only do this because it is much more interesting for you to watch than a black screen with my recordings playing!
A BIG A Cappella Project/Collaboration/Idea
$1,000 per Video/Song upload
While I know I can find a unique way to make music on the internet, I'd also like to take suggestions for ideas to work with. Is there a style of music you'd like to hear me explore? An arrangement for 10 or more voices? Or perhaps I could just use Patreon's suggestion and include a puppy or kitten in my next video ;)

About

I love making a cappella music! I love exquisite harmonies whether they're close and dissonant in vocal jazz, or spread and open like barbershop. I don't often cover pop songs, because I find older jazz standards open so many possibilities for harmony. I know that jazz isn't the quickest way to fame, but I truly appreciate the loyal supporters through my musical journey, wherever it may take me.

Hi! Welcome to my Patreon Page.

If you didn't come here directly from my YouTube videos, please check them out at http://www.youtube.com/daniscool99

I make a cappella videos, the same way I have been since 2007. I record all the parts to amazing arrangements, as well as some of my own. Most of my music is barbershop or vocal jazz. I realize that pop music is the way to become famous, but it isn't where my heart lies; I record music that has intricate harmonies that let you truly appreciate the contrast between consonance and dissonance. When you listen to my music, I don't want your reaction to be "Hey, that sounds exactly like the original recording on the radio!"; I want you to enjoy interpretations, inflections, and nuances that only my voice creates through interesting and creative arrangements. There's hundreds of people making a cappella music these days, but very few make it like I do! Close your eyes, put on a pair of headphones, detach yourself from your busy lifestyle, and embrace the harmonic diversity of vocal jazz!

In the past couple years I decided to dedicate my time making music to vocal jazz appreciation and creation and give up on "Views and Subscriptions" chasing. The music I release is intended specifically for my Patreon supporters and those with a similar love of close-voiced harmonies.

While I continue to work toward bigger and better things with my vocal group Accent (www.patreon.com/accentvocal), YouTube (along with a few other local musical jobs) IS my job! We live in a modern age where creators of music and other content can make a living doing what we love, but only with the support of our Patrons! If you enjoy the music I make, please consider becoming a Patron. Just like tip jar at a local music gig, this is one way us musicians can make a living (except my music doesn't have live crowd at music venues). A lot of time is spent recording and arranging music like this. New Patrons always brighten my day; hopefully my music can brighten yours! Of course, there is no obligation to become a Patron and/or you can always back out or edit your pledge at any time. Becoming a Patron means you're supporting the making of a music you like and getting closer to an inner circle of musicians who appreciate this kind of music.

I've been doing this for fun, because this music makes me happy. While the following of my favorite music is small, I am excited by the few who consistently let me know how my performances affect them. This music is for everyone, but especially you, the patrons. You're the reason I can still do it.

Every $1 or more makes a big difference. Please consider supporting me, as an independent artist with no labels or other sources of funding.

I look forward to sharing more music with you!
