I am a biologist, inventor, technologist and writer. Many years ago I started developing an idea for a novel that worked across all my interests. It would be a eco-techno-thriller -- I call it a black tale -- and would delve deep into our relationship with nature, human cycles of expansion and contraction, and the dark brooding presence of extinction. I have over the years developed all the main characters, their relationships, and an entire back story that will probably become a novel itself. To aid me in this work I have been recently writing short stories based on the characters in contexts, sometimes in the present and other times in the future. I have a small fan base now but I'm preparing to open this effort up to the broader public. Mostly because it makes the process a lot more fun for myself, and also because knowing that someone might be wanting another chapter or installment provides needed incentives.

I enjoy a challenge, and my writing improves when I explore new directions. At this pledge level we'll hold a quick survey (TBD) where readers get to pick a character from the novel and match him/her to a situation, and then I try to write to that! Wow sounds like fun. Don't let me down people!
