Hello!
I'm Parris Haynie, and I am a Chipmusic Musician, Writer, Net Artist, Nemu Oshii and Self Proclaimed Warrior Poet.
Since around 2008 I've been an active participant in the Philadelphia/NYC/Mid Atlantic chipmusic scenes under the name Dauragon. I have released several EP's, and have performed at multiple chipmusic showcases at events such as MAGfest, 8static Festival, Pulsewave, Byte Nite and I/O. Through the years, I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with chipmusic and associated acts such as: Virt, Note!, Environmental Sound Collapse, Wet Mango, Cheap Dinosaurs, minusbaby, Crashfaster, Aliceffekt, IAYD, Maxo, Zen Albatross, an0va, Br1ght Pr1mate, Starscream, Kris Keyser and Trey Frey.
Aside from music, I am a net artist, old guard member of the (infamous) Dump.fm community, and former member of the now defunct Tight Artists Net Gang. Nowadays my "net art" mostly comes in the form of my ongoing animated gif project, Technical .Gificulties; an exercise in re-coloring, dithering and low-resifying japanese gravrue videos (initially inspired by tumblr's draconian gif upload size limit):

Now that that is all out of the way, lets get into the details of why I am here: I am broke as a joke. At this stage of my life I simply can't afford to do all of this stuff only for the cred and the immense satisfaction that comes from creating art alone. Time spent doing this stuff is time spent with no income. I am here, asking for your patronage so that I can continue to to expand on my musical project and be able to make the best art that I can. I feel as though I have made the best with what I've had so far, and I am ready to begin the next big step towards bigger and more ambitious projects such as physical releases and touring.
In short: supporting me means I get to make so much more cool stuff and your support will help drive me to do bigger and better things in the not so distant future.
Primarily this campaign will be used as a delivery system for new music, but I may stray outside of it a few times if I make something that I feel like you guys would still be excited about and would like to support. This includes zines, music videos and maybe even the occasional essay.
So hey if you made it this far: Thanks for reading through all this and hopefully I've convinced to you throw in a few bucks to keep me in the game!
