THREE ORANGE STARS
A completely meaningless milestone, but it sure feels good to set a goal and then meet that goal, doesn't it?
Also, I'm buying a copy of Manga Studio 5 EX to replace Adobe Flash CS4 as the program I draw comics with. Who knows! Maybe using a program that's actually designed to do the job I'm doing will improve the comics a bit?
ALSO, if I make this goal, every patron will get a DRM-free pdf copy of my classic minicomic, Marty's big day!

8-10 PAGES A MONTH!
*spits coffee all over monitor*
That's twice as many updates! Drawing twice as many pages means I'll be putting out twice as many stories each year! That's basic math!

12-14 PAGES A MONTH!
I'll update 3 pages a week! So much content!
This goal makes me a twelver. Also, a full-time cartoonist probably.

I DO A SECOND COMIC SERIES!
Doing another comic series in addition to Gastrophobia is something I've wanted to do for a while now. This will happen if we meet this goal, and I promise it'll be amazing!

DAVID ADOPTS A CAT
I will adopt a cat!!
Not some cute kitten that'll be adopted anyway.
A cat.
I will adopt an adult cat from an animal shelter. You'll basically be this cat's hero. --and just imagine the hilarious comics that cat will inspire! Gastrophobia will become the Garfield of webcomics. All thanks to you.

PHOBIA DOESN'T DIE
If I make a million dollars, I promise not to kill off the popular main character of my internet comic book.

Hi! I'm David McGuire, the guy behind Gastrophobia, a silly episodic comic about a single mom Amazon warrior named Phobia and her nerdy son, Gastro. A lot of the story is based on real ancient Greek myth and a lot of it is complete nonsense I just made up for fun. I've been making Gastrophobia since 2008 and plan to continue making it for a long time.
Gastrophobia is available in its entirety online for free and will always be free no matter what. Supporting my habit of providing amazing, high-quality entertainment for the masses isn't easy, though! I make some money from advertising and merchandising, but not a lot. I make a little more doing freelance art, but I still have a day job.
Patreon is essentially a virtual tip jar for the arts. How it works is I continue to make free comics for everyone, as always. If you like what you see, once a month you can decide to drop some change in the jar. If enough people contribute in this fashion, I can spend less time going to other places for funds and more time making Gastrophobia better.
Any support you send, no matter how little, will help me continue to focus on making content. Patronage can not only help me offset the costs of producing a webcomic (such as hosting fees, art supplies, hardware/software upgrades), but also spend more time making comics in general. Currently, I usually update at least once a week. With enough financial support, I'll have the time to update more often, make better art, and make better stories.
I don't care what anyone says, if you want to help support me, you're O.K. in my book!
