About

I have been running Digital Blasphemy since 1997. It's been my full time job since 1999. I am fortunate to be one of a handful of people on the planet who makes a living by creating 3D computer wallpaper. What started as a hobby has become one of the more recognized destinations for computer art on the web with over 18,000 current paid subscribers.

Welcome to my "Signed Art Club"!

My name is Ryan Bliss (aka "Digital Blasphemy") and my full story can be found at ryanbliss.com where I explain how I discovered my talent for creating 3D renders purely by accident.

I had enough skill with computers to put together my own web gallery back in the prehistoric 90s.   As my gallery grew so did my fanbase.  High quality images were much more difficult to come by online back before digital cameras.

In 1999 I cast off my day job and went to work full-time creating 3D renders.  16 years later I still offer access to my entire gallery to my paid subscribers and a sizeable selection of high quality free samples to visitors.

In early 2014 I was the "Artist Guest of Honor" at RustyCon 31 in Seattle (they were nice enough to let me bring the rest of the DB team along).

It was our first convention experience...

I brought a large number of postcards to the convention and I signed quite a few prints.  The experience taught me that "real" tangible art has value in a way that goes beyond simple desktop wallpapers.

Shortly after I returned home from the convention I had the idea to send out my remaining convention postcards to people who signed up or added time as DB Members as a way of saying thanks.

I especially wanted my boys to sign each and every card so they knew where their food, clothing and shelter came from.

They've signed thousands of postcards going out to fans on every continent since then.

Even Antarctica!

Some other photos my fans have sent back...

During the past year that we've been sending out the cards Jessica and I have gotten to know a lot more about the people who are downloading my art.

Hand-signing, addressing, and sending them out the every week has helped put real names (and sometimes faces) to my fans that are so much more important than any digital statistic.

We are going to be discontinuing the Thank You card program on my website (other than for special occasions) but it will continue here on Patreon!

Hopefully the real hand-signed piece of artwork arriving at your door will remind you that I am a real person with a real family, rather than just a Facebook post or a Tweet on your phone, or even a wallpaper on your computer.

I've created this Patreon account to help fund close some funding gaps and maybe finance some much needed site upgrades.  More importantly I've created it to strengthen the bond between me and my fans.

Please note that my main avenue of support is still my Members Gallery and this Patreon doesn't replace it.

I intended this space to be for people who want to receive signed artwork by supporting my work on an ongoing basis.  I also just wanted to see who my most passionate fans really are.

Thanks for reading this far!!
