From the time my mom brought home our first computer when I was 12 years old, I've always been a technology lover and a geek. We started playing Rainbow Six in clan matches, and connecting our computers together to create this magic concept called a "Local Area Network".

Soon, we were building our own computers, trying to improve our performance to get the edge on our online opponents and become champions of these online clan ladders.

I discovered massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) in highschool, and the rest was history. Inside these magical worlds, there were entire social and monetary systems. There was a bizarre where players could meet up to barter and trade services or wares. It was inside of these ecosystems that I discovered my love for industry and personal finance.

Much like my real life, I was always ahead of my peers in terms of my financial position. I loved finding great deals. I noticed that certain items could be found cheaper in certain districts due to heavy supply, so I would buy and export those goods to other cities and sell them for a solid profit. I could make significantly more money by identifying deals in the bizarre than my friends who were out "farming" for resources and gold.

Like I said, real life has gone much the same (without the spells and PVP). I've accomplished so much more in my 10-year career than most do in 20 or 30 years. I'm 100% debt free, own my house outright, have "climbed the corporate ladder" (odd thing to be proud of). I think I'm done with all of that now, and I want to help you in some small but meaningful way.

I created Debt Free Geek to share my experiences with and inspire other technology enthusiasts to dominate their finances and live more fulfilling lives.

My goal for 2017 is for Debt Free Geek to be self-sufficient. So if you have enjoyed reading my content, please let me know by becoming a patron.

Amazing! At this level, Debt Free Geek will be 100% self-sufficient. Thank you so much for following and showing your support.

When I reach $75 per month, I will plan an all-day gaming session. Either we'll join a private server for an old-school MMO (Everquest, World of Warcraft), or we'll log back into CoD MW2 and troll some try-hards.
