From hummingbirds to sea urchinscaterpillars to corpse flowersDeep Look explores big science questions by going very, very small. In glorious Ultra-High-Definition, we show you science up close... really, really close.

We at KQED, the PBS station in San Francisco, absolutely love making Deep Look. We grew up inspired by public television's amazing science and nature programs such as Nature and NOVA, and are thrilled to bring this tradition to YouTube. But grants, sponsorships, and station funding don’t always provide a steady stream of support.

Right now we make 20 episodes per year. But you've let us know you want more. You have great ideas for shows. You want to get behind the scenes to see how we find and film our subjects. You want to geek out with us. We get it. We have the same dreams.

And that's why we're on Patreon. Joining us on Patreon is the best way for you to grow our series, get exclusive benefits, and access behind-the-scenes content. If you love our show, you can kick in a little—or a lot—each month so we can do incredible things together. Here's a few examples of what you can get:

  • Access to our Patron-only feed
  • Exclusive digital downloads
  • Sneak previews and behind-the-scenes looks
  • Regular chats with the producers, researchers and scientists about their creative process.
  • Opportunities to help us pick an upcoming story
  • Bonus episodes in new locations
  • And—of course—exclusive Deep Look schwag like stickers and t-shirts!

It’s more important than ever to stand up for and celebrate science.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, and welcome to the Deep Look community!

Goals
$975 of $2,000 per month
It takes 6-8 weeks to make each Deep Look episode.

$2,000 a month will enable us to sustain the highest possible standards of production for our 20 episodes per year. As a big thank you for attaining this goal, we will make the occasion with a special livestream for all of our patrons!
