During the last years, I created Deployer. This tool aim to make deployment easy for PHP developers. Hundreds of software developers already using this tool in their work for deploying production applications, and I want to bring Deployer to the next level, but I can't do that without some help from you.

As the creator and core lead of the Deployer, I have the responsibility of maintaining the critical components of the tool. This is a time consuming effort that often conflicts with my startup and consulting work. I am trying to find creative ways to fund this effort.

My goal is to generate steady income which will allow me to cut back on some of my consulting work and focus on maintaining Deployer. In full transparency, funds donated will be used directly by me to supplement my consulting work. Unless otherwise stated, these funds will not be shared with other Deployer contributors. I don't want to create the impression that donating is sponsoring community work. The funds will go directly to me to cover my costs of writing open source software.

I am currently working on new Deployer version 7. This version will be better than all previous faster and stable. v7 will be first LTS version. To achieve this, many issues need to be addressed. First all current issues must be resolved.

Here is some highlight of new Deployer v7 LTS:
  • Better documentation with examples,
  • Better support for different versions of frameworks,
  • Improved recipe loader and composer integration,
  • Improved stage features,
  • Full support of YAML format for recipes,
  • Full support for Docker container deployments.

Thank you for considering this effort and for all your support using and contributing to the Deployer community.

If you enjoy using Deployer, this is your opportunity to support my work.

Note: once you contribute $100 or more (regardless of sponsorship level), you are added to my private email list for critical security updates. People on this list receive the earliest notice when security issues are identified.
