After years of grassroots activism to preserve Detroit’s musical legacies, both on and offline, we have finally settled on a home.

And so we are creating a music research center and live performance venue at a historic jazz in Detroit.

Now the real work begins.

Preserve Detroit Music! Artifacts, records, photographs, documents, and a growing library of digital files, including oral histories, all in temperature-controlled storage, backed-up hard drives, and digital clouds.
plan our future at The Legendary Blue Bird Inn and Detroit Sound Center with confidence.
administer and coordinate our nonprofit’s efforts by paying for the basic labor to keep our programming regular, our grants fulfilled, and our eyes (and ears) on the long term legacy we are leaving our city.
