For more than three decades, Die Kwêvoël was a household name and every Friday morning you could find a freshly printed copy of the Die Kwêvoël newspaper in thousands of household in and around Thabazimbi. Due to the decline in printed advertising, rising printing costs and the general trend of media being consumed online, Moredou Printers and to finally shut their doors for the last time.

For the past three years the founder and editor of Kwêvoël, Pieter Coetzee, has been hard at work to transform this traditional printed newspaper from print to the online world, but while moving over to a digital platform was successful in some ways, advertising revenue has never recovered. Now Kwêvoël is in urgent need of funds to keep the servers running and the lights on.
