The Asteriis World Project
My plan is to craft one of the most intricate, comprehensive and  hopefully memorable campaign settings that one man alone  has ever endeavored to create in the realm of tabletop role-playing games.  I realize the magnitude of such a task, nay, such a quest!  I feel my decades of Game Mastering have honed my proficiency in world-building and storytelling to the degree necessary to start undertaking this grand creative adventure.  While the mechanics of this world setting will be represented using the Pathfinder  Role Playing Game rules set, I believe it's narrative nature will allow it to easily be used with any system.  I will publish the project through a series of guidebooks, to be sold on drivethrurpg for little to no cost.  The process will be tracked via the Asteriis blog, so that folks can see the progress unfold through my needless banter.
Content
This massive build will feature everything, and more, that one would need to run a campaign in my world of Asteriis (aster-ree-us).  I would like to demonstrate the depth of the details by offering up one town as an example.  Northgard, the small trading hub positioned in an area of verdant plateaus called the Inland Isles, will likely fill well over 100 pages alone.  Those pages will include every little detail a GM could ever hope to know about the town.  There are over 30 locations with histories, descriptions, hooks, maps and contents.  Each location will also have a host of NPCs with their own back-stories, descriptions and interpersonal relationships with other denizens in Northgard and abroad.  In just this one small town there are well over 100 named NPCs!  This is of course in addition to countries, continents, races, religions, magic, items, seasons, history, folklore, timelines, geography... the Nethereach...  and much, much more.  All of the content will be composed in a flowing narrative form to allow for easy reading, and paraphrasing when needed.

Illustrations?
For as long as I can remember I have loved to draw.  Aside from writing this behemoth, I will also be illustrating it thoroughly.  From big colorful overview maps of cities, countries and continents, to grid-filled buildings and dungeons.  From NPC  figures and portraiture to black and white sketches of all kinds of interesting things, the setting will contain a ton of artwork.  I have no dedicated style to my works, and I enjoy creating new and innovative techniques,  so the array of visual elements will be as unique as the literature.

Why so big?
When I go at something, I tend to go huge.  For instance, last year I decided to start painting portraits.  I had drawn little pencil portraits before, but had never really painted anything but the walls of houses.  I took a sheet of plywood and some house paint and went at it.  Here is the result www.djarrodshaw.com.  I have wanted to design games since I was 12 years old, so now that I am taking a shot at it, I want it to be epic.  This may be a huge damn mistake and catastrophe, but I am a maker at heart, and I like to make big things.

What your support will garner.
Your gracious monthly gift will allow me to set aside time to devote to this craft which I hold so very dear.  I work a full time job and many handy man side jobs in an honest attempt to support my beautiful family.  This leaves very little time to achieve my inner goals, to realize my passions.  Your support will help to remedy that deficiency of time, and allow me to chase a dream I have had for over two decades.  You will be investing as much in my development as a designer, as you will be the project I am creating.  I appreciate any support, whether it be financial, moral or critical.  Any thoughts that someone wishes to direct toward something I am making, are energies that I deeply adore.  Thank you for stopping by!
