I made my first supercut in 2008 after reading about the emerging phenomena on waxy.org.
I’ve since made 12 and have close to 5 million views across YouTube and Vimeo. They have been shown in classrooms, at XOXO festival, ROFLCon and the Museum of the Moving Image. Here's a playlist:
Some of those are silly joke things, put together in less than a day. I might still make those if I get the urge but that’s not why I'm on Patreon. This is an attempt to support the production of new videos like Let’s Enhance, Tumbleweeds, Three Point Landing and Percussive Maintenance. It can take months to collect clips and edit these videos. They also have original music, composed by my brother Joel, who I'll continue working with.
I have a growing list of remix ideas which would use material not just from film and TV, but from video games, vintage ephemeral footage and places like YouTube and Vine. I’m planning some collaborations and I’d like to make some interactive pieces. If you’re interested, I could also use Patreon to share some of my process with you.
Goals and some other rewards might be added later if there's enough interest. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
Thanks,
Duncan
