About dwangoAC, keeper of TASBot

Greetings! I am dwangoAC, keeper of TASBot. I lead teams of people making TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) content specifically for charity events like Games Done Quick. I am a Twitch Partner at Twitch.tv/dwangoAC and a YouTube Partner at YouTube.com/dwangoAC where I respectively stream and post TAS console verification content. In 2019 alone I led teams that helped raise over $280k for charities including Doctors Without Borders and the Prevent Cancer Foundation. In addition to leading the TASBot community I'm also the President of the North Bay Linux Users' Group, Founder of the social benefit entity ToolAssist, L3C, and on staff as the Ambassador of TASVideos.org.

My goal is to give you, my Patrons, value for any support you can provide and a sense of supporting something bigger than any one of us could do on our own. I can assure you it's appreciated; I was $15k out of pocket from attending charity events by mid 2019 and I was encouraged by my Discord community to pursue a Patreon campaign. 2020 has stayed generally breakeven. I'm extremely thankful for the help offsetting the costs of attending charity events along with the equipment used to prepare content for them.

If you've never heard of TASBot, he's best described as a mascot of a vibrant community of content creators and hackers that I (dwangoAC) lead. TASBot plays games on original unmodified video game consoles perfectly - so perfectly that we often take over the entire console with frequent press coverage from places like Ars Technica. We've pulled off all kinds of silly hijinks like Pokemon Plays Twitch where we connected an SNES console to the internet and turned it into a Twitch chat client. It's charity focused content that's unlike anything else on the internet and I'd value any support you'd be willing to provide to help make even more content and events possible. Thanks!
$236.28 of $500 per month
Attending remote events like Games Done Quick and European Speedrunning Assembly takes about $3k per event of total travel costs. If I can hit this goal I'll be able to cover costs to bring TASBot to two major remote charity events per year. Thanks!
