About Dylan Meconis

Family Man is a three-part graphic novel series full of intrigue, atmosphere, dangerous romance, theology jokes, academic backstabbing, antique library science, old grudges, old gods, and the company of wolves. I've been creating the comic since 2006, posting over 400 pages to date.

Queen of the Sea is my next major graphic novel, due out from Candlewick in June of 2019. Margaret has spent her entire life far form the shores of Albion, on the tiny but idyllic Island that a small convent of nuns call home. Then a tragedy reveals the Island's sinister true purpose, and brings two powerful and dangerous new residents to its shores. Margaret must befriend a meddlesome former queen, rescue a shipwrecked duke, outwit a power-hungry Mother Superior, discover her own identity, and, possibly...save a kingdom in the process.

The Long Con is a 10-issue miniseries from Oni Press, out at comic book stores now, with the first of two book collections available in January of 2019. Co-written with Ben Coleman, drawn by Emilee Denich, colored by Victoria Robado and Fred C. Stresing and lettered by Aditya Bidikar. When a mysterious cataclysm strikes during a pop culture convention, all the attendees are presumed dead...including hack journalist Victor Lai's comics pro pal, Dez Delaney. Five years later, Victor must return to the ruins of the convention hall...

Books are my life! But book income is irregular, and the deadlines make it tough for me to supplement my income with freelance work. Patreon means I get to share progress on those books with you, continue to make projects that aren't a good fit for traditional publishing, and embark on creative experiments.

The comic's website has been pretty much unchanged since...2009, when I last had the free time and the cash to make it happen. This will make it possible for me to hire help to spiff it up, increase the size of the page images, and make it easier to follow blog posts and footnotes. Got a feature request?
