Hello Patrons,

We live in an age where even neighbors don’t get to know one another, making it easy for preconceived notions to thrive, especially against marginalized communities. As two Muslim-American women, we wanted to do something about that, recognizing that we had to proactively counter misconceptions and misinformation about Muslims. We found the best way to do that is by getting to know our community members and neighbors through shared meals. We decided to call our project Eat With Muslims and we make sure that compassion and understanding have a seat at the dinner table. We want guests to ask questions, get to know one another, and most of all, be open. The first EWM dinner was held in January 2017 and we have been going strong ever since! The response has been powerful and exciting. It is also amazing to see that people recognize our work in building bridges and connecting strangers. Recently, we received U.S. Congressman Adam Smith’s 2018 Champion of Justice Award!

We have hosted over forty gatherings around Washington State, Oregon, and Iowa and continue to expand. EWM wants to capture the amazing stories of dinner hosts and guests to share it with the rest of the country through our web series. Your support will help us continue to create content that focuses on food and fellowship that brings humanity together through these experiences.

We also have started our Cooking and Conversation series where we invite guests to speak on news and different topics. It's a cool way to get the perspectives of Muslim-Americans and show a delicious lunch from different cultures around the world. We will have a crew of talented individuals on board to assist in production and editing so your support will go a long way.
Your contribution of any amount is very much appreciated! :-)
