Thank you for making your way to my Patreon page!  I am a new author writing science fiction futures grounded in the natural past.  The history of Earth is always present in our lives, but its influence can be lost with all the distractions we have today.  Because explaining such things can be challenging, I have included a quote from The Ceres Yield below.  It may give you an idea of the deep time perspective I try to bring to a novel set in the late 21st Century.  (Reference the photo above, it was the inspiration.  All photos here are my own.)

“The remains of the great forests were strewn along the beaches like ancient alabaster statues waylaid by time, worn smooth by the seas, struggling to ever rise again, limbs as arms, knots on trunks resembling knees, but forever broken, roots ripped out from under their feet.”  Zinnia in The Ceres Yield

This quote is from Zinnia's journal, titled The Lost Tome of the Ecologian, where she imagines that a "great drift of woods" occurred around 12,500 years BCE.  She does not show up prominently in the first book, but her influence runs under the words and through the text, mostly quiet and unseen.  However, you may catch more than a glimmer of her presence.  She is always there, like the history of Earth under our feet.

Your support will help me with the first book in The Ceres Yield series subtitled UpLyft Protocol. It comes in three parts all of which are expected to be published as one volume this spring. Although I have been writing for many years, and I have a number of unpublished poems, stories, etc..., this is both my first finished novel and expected publication. We all know how hard it is to pursue a hobby you love when you work full-time and life is always at the call. Ideas for this began in late 2011 and I started writing in early 2012. I pieced it together a few hours at a time ever since.

Though The Ceres Yield: UpLyft Protocol is complete at twenty-nine chapters and 120,000 words, I have much to do to finish final revisions and formatting for publication. The second and third books (additional titles in the series) added together are approximately 140,000 words, for the time being.   So I figure they will be released as either 1) two shorter novels separated at ~70K each or 2) a single volume composed of two books. Each of these has two parts.  But this is for later, UpLyft Protocol is the first goal.

Being a new author I write in my 'spare' time.  Bringing a novel together takes an unbelievable amount of effort, so anything you can give would be great.  I will use your support to finish final editing and publication.  Read the Rewards section to see what each level of support brings.

Thank you again for visiting and please follow me on Twitter (you will be one of the first).  And finally, since this is a new account, thank you for your patience.  It will become more active presently.
