About

Hello, I'm Eilidh and I'm a traditional fiddle player, composer and tutor from the West coast of Scotland and I launched 'Tune Tuesday with Eilidh Steel' in February 2019.

Tune Tuesday is best suited to fiddlers who are able to play some tunes and feel open to learning by ear. My aim is to help you build your repertoire of Scottish music and gain confidence in learning by ear. You can watch the videos at a time that suits you and when learning a tune you can watch the videos as many times as you want or stop and repeat a bit if you feel you need more time on a particular part of the tune.

The videos focus on my left hand so that you can use my fingers as a guide when learning the tunes. The sheet music is always given as well as the background information on the tunes and composers.

Although this is principally aimed at fiddlers it would also suit mandolin players, and other tune players are welcome to join but you'd just need to ignore the fingerings I mention every so often during the videos as these may not be applicable to your instrument.

I hope these videos will give you inspiration, motivation and enjoyment of playing Scottish music!
