Hullo, I'm Eleanor.

I call myself the girl who once lived in a box. This is because I was never supposed to be what or where I am today, because I got out.

I grew up homeschooled, kindergarten through high school graduation. I made my first friends in college. Now I'm not alone, and I have a voice.

I write about being an extrovert recovering from isolation. I write about my departure from fundamentalist Christianity and rebuilding my beliefs. I write about systemic abuse at colleges like Bob Jones University and Pensacola Christian College.

I also write about the network my friends and I established to help others like us escape cults and move out of abusive, controlling households.

I am learning to believe in my own story and to feel again. I write about healing. I blog at EleanorWritesThings.com about my journey tin finding freedom.

What will you do with my donation?

There are so many things I want to do.

I just finished college, and I'm working several jobs. This means resources are limited and I don't have much spare time to keep my blog and You Tube channel updated.

Do you like reading my posts? Want more vlogs about going undercover in cults? Your support means I can do more of that.

When I write about homeschool curriculum and the harmful ideas I got from it, I have to pay to get access to the online versions of the books. Your donation would help me get access to materials so that I could write more.

Soon I'd like to establish a hotline for homeschool alums, especially those trapped in the stay at home daughters movement.

When they call, we'll direct them to outside resources and offer support and advice for their transition, much like human trafficking hotlines do.
