Monthly Process Videos!
$500 per month
Give me $500 a month and I'll spring for Camtasia, which I know how to use and is fairly unobtrustive to drawing on my garbage old computer, facilitating [at least] monthly videos of me drawing/coloring the comic. ALSO! I will mail all patrons in the US an exclusive postcard (sorry International backers; postage would be prohibitive). All in all, a pretty great funding goal.
Ad-Free, Everyone [Domestic] Gets a Print
$1,000 per month
Pledge this much and all the ads are gone. Additionally, along with your postcards, I will mail all patrons in the United States (sorry, International supporters, but the shipping costs would be prohibitive!) a print that I can't really tell you about because it doesn't exist yet. Also: more postcards, probably, for people still hanging around the US for whatever reason.
Two+ Updates a Week
$3,800 per month
Pledge this much monthly and the comic will be paying my family's bills, allowing me the time to put out two (or more!) pages a week and plow through this story (and more!) at a way more engaging rate. If everyone who read kicked in a couple bucks it'd be cake. And of course you'll complete your collection of postcards, US patrons, which is what you should really be focusing on.
Hell's Corners Returns, OR:
$5,500 per month
I still get questions about the potential continuation of Hell's Corners. It's something I'm totally unopposed to revisiting; the wholly different tone would add some fun variety to my comics life. With time to focus on only one presently, though, it's all NTO, all the time right now. If my husband could quit his job to take care of our toddler, and if interest was sufficient to motivate me to do more (different!) comics in my free time instead of, like, playing videogames or sleeping, I would totally resurrect the undead husks of Jeff & company.

Still, despite still getting the odd question or comment about HC, it was never super popular. If I could actually raise this much cash I'd put it to a Patron vote, and let you guys decide if you want your NTO with a side of:

  • Hell's Corners
  • Fearsome Critters
  • Cutter & Ironwood
  • Even more NTO, which would blow through the story fast enough I would very quickly be moving on to another comic anyway

About

Erin Mehlos is an independent creator from the farflung north woods, and despite appearances never strays south or west for very long. A frequent observer of 24 Hour Comics Day, her inclusion in About Comics' 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights 2005 anthology technically makes her an Eisner nominee, but saying so sounds kind of jerky and anyway she d much rather have an Eisner nomination for something like Hell s Corners, Next Town Over, or DRAWMORE INC s first Nobodies anthology, which look a lot nicer. She remains in the frozen north, specifically Wisconsin, with her husband and brand new son.

What is Next Town Over and why should I give you my money?

Next Town Over
is a weekly western, liberally spiced with sorcery, secrets and steam. It primarily chronicles the curious rivalry twixt laconic, mechanically-inclined Vane Black and sorcerous rogue John Henry Hunter.

...It's a webcomic, all right? A webcomic that's been updating like clockwork -- entirely free to read -- since 2010. It takes a tremendous amount of my time and resources to continue making, and as a new mom those things are in short supply. A little reader support keeps me going; enough would allow me much more time to work on the comic and even more projects that'd doubtless be relevant to your interests. Not to mention I'm going to give you things.

In addition to the rewards listed below, all supporters get access to the Patron-only content stream, which includes process walkthroughs and commentary on pages of the comic, special offers and more. Where possible, I intend to give persistent patrons a little more than promised in the pledge tiers listed (Patreon currently only allows for listing one-time premiums, and doesn't have any provision for cumulative donations).  I'd also like to routinely send out new wallpapers, downloads, etc., to folks who continue to support the comic. Pledge enough in the long run and you will likely even receive something in the mail.

If you choose to support Next Town Over via Patreon you'll be charged monthly. You can edit or cancel your pledge any time prior to being charged.
